Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

It’s Time to Eliminate the KKK

Many of you are most likely familiar with the online vigilant group known as Anonymous. For those of you who aren’t, they are a group of hackers who have made it their mission to make this world a better place through the cybernetic world.

They have a number of successful operations, including Operation Orlando, which was created in response to the arrests of members belonging to the Food Not Bombs organization that were in charge of feeding the homeless against city ordinances. Anonymous took down the website for Orlando’s Chamber of Commerce and left a Guy Fawkes mask (their signature object) on the mayor’s porch as a warning.

Other operations include Operation Darknet where they released 1,000+ names of child pornography website users, Operation WBC where they released names of those affiliated with the Westboro Baptist Church who had previously announced that they were going to picket the funeral for the Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting, and Operation Ice ISIS where they attacked ISIS’ Internet-based recruitment drives releasing a statement which said:

ISIS:

We will hunt you, Take down your sites, accounts, emails, and expose you.

From now on, no safe place for you online…

You will be treated like a virus, and we are the cure…

We own the internet…

We are Anonymous; we are Legion; we do not forgive, we do not forget, Expect us.

In November 2015, they began a new operation titled Operation KKK. Anonymous made it clear that the Ku Klux Klan were not being attacked for what they believe in, due to Anonymous’ immense support of freedom of speech, but rather for “What you [KKK] did to our brothers and sisters at the Ferguson protest on the 12th of November.”

They released specific information about 1,000 Klan members causing many of them to leave the organization. Enraged, the KKK threatened Anonymous saying they had “awoken a sleeping giant”. The cybernetic battle between Anonymous and the KKK died down until a few days ago when Anonymous released a statement regarding the revival of this operation due to the anniversary of the Ferguson events.

In the statement that was released they said, “You [KKK] are abhorrent. Criminal. You are more than extremists. You are more than a hate group. You operate much more like terrorists and you should be recognized as such […] the last time we took your hoods off, you claimed to be misunderstood. Victimized. No. You are a damaged, dangerous, fragmented, splintered and amorphous collection of terroristic cells with a hate-based ideology and a well-documented history of violence against the American public – assault, murder, terrorism.” After expressing their thought on the KKK they then addressed the citizens saying:

To the Citizens of the World:

We stand with you always, against oppression and injustice. Anonymous is many things. The anons participating in Operation KKK believe that it is a civic responsibility to be conscious and self-critical of our society in order to improve upon the shape of things to come.

Thousands of names with detailed information including phone numbers, addresses, social security etc. of those who actively participate in the KKK were released on November 2nd, 2015, but Anonymous quickly denied their participation in this release of information.

These names included government personnel, policemen, doctors, lawyers, etc. and made me realize that these people who hold such powerful jobs are a part of the biggest hate group in the United States of America. How can we possibly achieve justice and equality when we allow these people to hold such high positions in society? In Germany, the practice of Nazism is illegal due to the organization being ruled unconstitutional because of the immorality it represents.

If this was done in the USA with the KKK it would be much easier to remove Klan members from positions of power. The KKK has been tormenting the lives of African Americans for around 200 years now and the government has done close to nothing to stop it from spreading into future generations. It is time to take action.

Anonymous included a way for everyone to support the elimination of the KKK on their statement saying, “You can show your support for us lawfully by raising awareness of this operation through sharing your thoughts and ideas about the KKK through tweetstorms and other social media amplification strategies. The ability to share information quickly and effectively will carry this operation far and wide. Tag #OpKKK #HoodsOff when you post on social media platforms”.

They have stated that the names will be released November 5th at 10:00 AM (central). You can follow @Operation_KKK and @OpHoodsOff on Twitter for official updates. As they said, it is important to spread awareness. We have to take action if we want to see change.
