Why Palestinians are not obligated to vote for Hillary Clinton

Hello. I hate Hillary Clinton. I hate her more then Donald Trump, actually. And if you’ve been following me on social media you’ve most likely noticed I’ve been berating her with negative comments. Well, I argue that those negative “comments” aren’t really “comments”, they’re the truth. How, you ask, could someone hate Hillary Clinton more than Donald Trump? How could anyone hate a woman “qualified” and intelligent over a blatant racist? Well, my friends, it all lies within the aforementioned word “blatant”.

Donald Trump is blunt. He’s unapologetically a racist, xenophobic, Islamophobic, white (or orange) supremacist. And as well ALL know, or should know, white supremacists are the biggest threat to national security. Need any more proof? I mean the Klu Klux Klan has openly supported him, even though American media refuses to label them as a white supremacist group. Actually, the media doesn’t describe them at all because they’re too busy discussing Islam and terrorist Muzzies. But, that’s a topic for another day.

Back to why I hate Hillary whip and naenae Clinton. Hillary’s voting record in congress as well as her time as Secretary of State has shown that she has a strong position towards bombing  the Middle East. There’s a lot of great stuff you can dig up on her foreign policy but it’s not so easy, since Google has been consistently criticized for possibly censoring negative information about her. It’s important you know a few things about me, as my background strongly shapes my opinion on Hillary. If you don’t know anything about me, here’s some info: I’m 19 years old, I’m Palestinian, and I’m a queer Muslim. All three qualities that definitely do not mix will with Mrs. Clinton.

She’s benefited from voter suppression of youth in the most important state primaries, hasn’t supported gay rights until recently (and still refuses to acknowledge her past stance), and is basically a giant bank for Israel. Speaking of big banks, she supports those too. Above all, her stance on Israel is nothing short of toxic. When she stood in front of AIPAC members and declared unwavering support for Israel, I knew the future of Palestine was in jeopardy. Watching Hillary speak in front of thousands of American Jews in an attempt to secure their community’s vote was nothing short of alienating. It almost seemed as if facts didn’t even matter anymore, she was just saying whatever made her sound as pro-Israel as possible.

That is why I have decided come November, I will not vote Hillary Clinton. I will not vote for Donald Trump (that was never an option). Voting is still important and you should vote for whomever you please. Stop telling me to vote for her in an attempt to stop Trump. I don’t care about your opinion, and I don’t care who you’re voting for. I care about spreading awareness. I care about my people, I care about mobilizing and educating them. Stop thinking I highly value your opinion because you’re a liberal here to save me. I’m not being paid to tell you to not vote for Hillary, I’m telling you why she’s just as evil as Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton will continue America’s imperialist agenda in the Middle East, something Trump isn’t smart enough to pull off. I won’t vote for the “lesser evil”. Why? Because the philosophy behind that argument is pernicious. I value my right to vote far too much to throw it away on a woman just because I’m afraid of Trump.

I will never vote out of fear, I vote out of hope. We’ve grown accustomed to accepting a little good, with a lot of bad. I refuse to settle for less. I refuse to vote for anyone who’s stance endangers my community and its livelihood. How can I call myself a social activist, yet vote for a war criminal? How can I call myself Palestinian whilst voting for a woman who has championed the death of my brothers and sisters? When I cast my vote – it means whatever the candidate commits is also done in my name. I will not support further oppression of my people. Stop telling me – stop telling Palestinians – what’s best for us. We’ve been spoken over for far too long. It’s time my community decides for themselves what they think is best for us. And I’m telling you right now: Hillary Clinton is not what’s best for us. If you are Palestinian, hear this message. You do NOT have to vote for Hillary Clinton. It is not our duty to support US imperialism and colonialism. Falasteen, horah, horah.
