Makeup Look: Neutral Halo Eye

imageThis eye makeup is a pretty, soft look that can be worn on a daily basis if you have time. The colors can be switched around and can be even very dark or light, or shimmers and glitters can be added!

What You’ll Need:
• Neutral colored eyeshadows (Tan, Burgundy, Dark Brown. Juvia’s Place Nubian Palette or Morphe35O is perfect for this look)
• Eyeshadow primer or concealer
• Blending brushes and a flat brush
• Liquid eyeliner or gel eyeliner
• Mascara (or false eyelashes if you’d like)

How to do it:

Step one:
Prime your eyelids using your favorite primer or concealer. Concealer works well especially if its tacky. I like to use concealer that is way lighter than my skin tone just so the colors would pop even more over the lighter concealer. Then, get an eyeshadow close to the color of your concealer/primer or a translucent powder to set your primer/concealer.

Step two:
Get a big, fluffy blending brush and pick up a tan color. Creme Brulêé by MUG is a perfect shade for this step or pick up a similar color from your eyeshadow palette. Blend this color on the outer part of your eyelids and inner part. Make sure to try your best to leave the middle part blank. Blend it out and make sure its seamlessly blended.

Step three:
Pick up a smaller blending brush that comes to a tip at the end and dip it in your burgundy shade. Cocoa bear by MUG is a good shade for this, or pick up a similar one from Morphe or your palette. Put it lower than the tan shade and don’t blend it as high up. The point focuses it more into the outer and inner corner and gives more definition.

Step four:
A pencil brush works well with this step, and dip it into your dark brown shade. Focus this even more than the burgundy shade but make sure you can see the gradient between the tan, burgundy, and dark brown. Don’t blend it as high up as the burgundy shade. If this isn’t dark enough for you, add black.

Step 5:
Get a flat eyeshadow brush and pick up a matte white or cream eyeshadow and pack it in the middle. If you don’t want it to be too matte, add a shimmery shadow in the middle. Gold or champagne shade would look good. Personally for me, I went for glitter.

Step 6:
Get your liquid eyeliner and do a wing. This step is also optional, but it just ties the look together in my opinion. If you struggle with eyeliner, this also works without it. Get your mascara or falses lashes and you’re done!
