Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

How To Get This Beyoncé Inspired Look

If you are somebody who is in love with Beyoncé like myself, then you know that on September 4, 1981 we were blessed with her presence.  From the age of 16, not only has she been one of the most successful women of our generation, she has also been a fashion and beauty icon for many. While styles have changed over the years that she’s been in the business, she’s always been flawless and on point whether it be with her outfits or her makeup. She’s always seemed to have this natural but glamorous makeup look that makes her skin glow and brings out her features even more. The first time I saw the music video for ‘Haunted’ I was OBSESSED with her makeup. I very rarely see her with any kind of dark and edgy makeup, so when I saw this it quickly became one of my favorite makeup looks on her. I also knew that at some point I had to recreate this look, and since it’s her birth month, this is the perfect time to do it!

With any kind of makeup inspired by a celebrity look, I find that it can be a challenge to make sure the look you’re doing is not overly difficult and is close enough to the original without it being a copycat. Sometimes you can spend so much time trying to make everything look exactly the same, which is just not possible. So I hope that I did it justice! Without further ado, here is my Beyoncé inspired look based off the ‘Haunted’ music video. Her makeup in this video seemed to focus more on bold eyes and lips with minimal face makeup, so I tried to do the same with my own makeup.

The hardest part of doing this look for me was making sure that I didn’t use to much black eyeshadow to the point where it looked like I had two black eyes. The easiest way to remedy this is to use a little black at a time, placing it exactly where you want it to be, and making sure you blend it all out in between applications with a clean blending brush so you don’t add any more eyeshadow to your lid. Here is the final look!
