Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

Men Can Definitely Get Raped, Stop Denying It

There is this belief that feminists only care about women’s issues. When in reality, the feminist movement has a more holistic egalitarian goal. You know, we feminists hate men. We may have all heard of “menimists” that aren’t actually a group; they only exist to mock feminists. Instead of trying to address men’s social issues, they degrade feminists, who are actually trying to make a difference.

One of the biggest things feminists try to tear apart is double standards. I’m going to assume that we’ve all seen some version of a video where a man pretends to abuse his female partner and everyone rushes to her rescue. The video reversed the roles so that the woman was abusing the man in the exact same way.  Bystanders no longer saw the victim as someone who needed help.

As of 1998, 2.78 million men in the U.S. had been victims of attempted or completed rape. About 3% of American men—or 1 in 33—have experienced an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime.

There’s a new video out. This one does not use actors; everything you are about to watch actually happened. A woman strips down, pins a man to the ground, and attempts to force him to have sex with her. Meanwhile, everyone is standing around and laughing. Someone is even bold enough to record the sexual assault.

Warning: The following content has some nudity.

What do we feminists have to say?

Well — why was the camera man filming a someone get attacked? If it was a woman on the ground everyone would have flocked to her rescue. What kind of world do we live in, where someone can get so outrageously sexually assaulted while others stand around and laugh? Darius, why is this funny to you? Do you think that people who have experienced sexual abuse are funny? Would you, Darius, have run to help your “mans,” or would you have stood around and laughed like the rest of them? Because, I, Darius, am a female, and I am a feminist, I am probably no match for her, but I would not stand around and make a crime scene into a comedy show.

I refuse to live in a society where women’s issues are dismissed and even worse, where men’s issues are made into a joke. Men get abused, men get raped, and men hurt too. Feminism is not just about women’s issues. It is about tearing down walls of double standards and shining a light on issues that have stayed in the dark for too long.

So to answer your question, Darius, we, the real feminists are pissed.
