Donald Trump Wins The Electoral College Votes, But Law Makers Can Reject These Results

Sadly, Trump has won with a whopping 270 Electoral College votes. That means he has one more step to become our official president. The top electors were from Texas. Electors are chosen to cast their votes for whoever they want but many state laws require them to vote for whoever their state chose. One elector in Minnesota said he wouldn’t vote for Clinton, who won in his state. He was disqualified and replaced with an elector who later voted for Clinton.

There’s one more thing though, Law makers can technically object to these results. They can do this in writing, but it needs to be signed by at least one House and Senate member. If the House and Senate support this objection, the votes or votes will be null and void. They were be thrown out. Don’t hold your breathe though cause this rarely happens.

It seems like Trump will in fact become our president, so what we need to do now is figure out how the hell we will get through a Trump presidency. I’m as sad as the next person, but it seems like we have tried everything. Many of the electors got thousands of letters not to vote for Trump, even death threats.

Trump will officially set for his inauguration on January 20 at noon. It will all be over once all the electoral college votes are counted on January 6.
