Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

The Most Ungrateful Time Of The Year

Today is December the 25th, which means Christmas is finally here. Tweets are flooding in with what presents everyone did or didn’t get this year. I’m sure that most of us are satisfied with a majority of what we get but sometimes there are a select few people who aren’t so happy with what their friends or family have chosen for them. No one I know would take to twitter to express their disapproval but unfortunately… I can’t say the same for everyone.

On this exact day last year, this tweet ended up going viral.

I didn’t pay enough attention to know if this person was joking or not although they spent quite a bit of time making the situation a bigger deal than it should’ve been. But I’m going to hope it was only a joke just because those tweets are completely ridiculous.

Moving on to this year, we have another person who felt the need to complain about how her mother spent…. 300 dollars on her!? The tweets have since been deleted but not before someone had the chance to screenshot them.

I’ve crossed out the username since those tweets also went pretty viral and she has deleted her twitter probably due to harassment. But according to the owner of the tweets, it was taken out of context and what she really meant was, “she didn’t want her mom to spend money on things she doesn’t need.” It seems plausible but it could’ve been worded in a way that doesn’t sound as ungrateful for what she received. I’m sure that there are more accounts looking to have their tweets about how much they hate their Christmas presents blow up, but I’m fairly pleased to have only found one today.

If you were lucky enough to receive a gift today, please be grateful. If it wasn’t something you wanted or needed, you always have the option of exchanging it or maybe even giving it to someone who couldn’t afford to have presents under their tree this year. This day is about happiness and you really just should not let material things ruin your it. I hope everyone had a beautiful and wonderful day. Happy holidays everyone.
