Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

Delightfully Charming: A Quick Telling of the Life of Lauren Graham

Are you a die-hard, use-this-show-as-an-excuse-to-drink-more-coffee Gilmore Girls fan? Do you justify using movie references as 50% of conversation, because Lorelai and Rory do so too? No longer will I accept any advice concerning my coffee habits, unless it stems from the Gilmore girls themselves. All else is irrelevant.

Lauren Graham’s newest novel titled Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls, and Everything in Between was released on November 29th and is basically the timeline of her hectic, yet eventually successful life. While peeling back each page of this lovely, hard-cover book, readers cannot help but come to the realization that Lauren really is just as delightful, if not even more so, a human being as her well-known television character, Lorelai Gilmore.

Talking as Fast as I Can essentially lays out every step of her way to stardom, from meeting actors like George Clooney, dating Peter Krause while cast in NBC’s Parenthood, to jumping – quite fervently – onto the set of Gilmore Girls, an instant fan favorite, while realizing how many wonderful, yet completely bizarre outfit decisions she had made over the course of her acting career and overall lifetime.

Lauren speaks briefly in the beginning about how completely ecstatic she was to get back to the set of Gilmore Girls to recreate Stars Hallow and reinvent, alongside Alexis Bledel, the lives of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore in the 2016 Netflix revival, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, simultaneously giving readers and fans even more reason to catch up on their beloved fictional characters’ future lives.

She even shared some thoughts on the tough process of writing the book while chatting with Bustle:

“It was actually hard to write about the show the first time, because it was so intense, and so many years ago, and so many episodes. So I actually went back through and had to take a look at it.”

Lauren dug deep into her Gilmore Girls past in order to create something beautiful for her latest project, marathoning the entire series in order to gain insight and recall old memories and emotion.

This book has its favorable ramblings about why one should pursue veganism, work out more, or not read any books on dieting; it is the pure voice of Lauren Graham, and while reading, one can not help but hear her enthusiastic, passion-filled voice filling their thoughts. Everything about it is sweet, inspiring, and overall entertaining, just as though you are watching her on-screen in one of your favorite television shows/movies.

“I was an aide at a kindergarten, where I was obviously in way over my head, since, as you may remember, I skipped kindergarten and still had no idea what they did there,” she writes. It is comments like these that show readers with much exuberance how insanely genuine this book is; it is pure gold.

Do you want to know what it was like to sport hundreds of different tiny purses and speak a million miles an hour? Would you like to chat with the woman herself, mother of Rory and daughter of Emily Gilmore? Freely peruse this novel and gain insightful advice, arbitrary facts on the REI store and how to eventually level the playing field and win it all.

There is life beyond the Gilmore Girls TV series; this novel is a piece of happiness in that regard. Lauren is a sweet soul and has done so much for our world and media, and it is wonderful to know that there is someone out there who understands, accepts and loves no matter what. Go read this book, Talking as Fast as I Can, and experience first-hand what Lauren Graham’s life was and is like, as well as what beauty she has brought into our world.
