- If you make a wish at midnight on New Year’s it’s more likely to become true.
- Don’t cry in the first day of the new year.
- The first person that comes into your home on the first day of the new year will influence the whole year; blond and redheaded people bring bad luck, people with brown hair bring good luck.
- If you wear red on New Year’s Eve you’ll have a lucky year.
- The first person that knocks or buzzes into your door must be welcomed into your home; if the first person that enters the house is a woman – it will be a bad year. If it’s a man – it will be a lucky year.
- It brings bad luck to sneeze on the night of New Years.
- Leave the doors and windows open at midnight; what you do on the day of New Year’s Eve, you will do it the whole next year.
