As the Obama presidency comes to an end, we should take this time to reflect and appreciate on what First Lady Michelle Obama has done for the country during the last 8 years.
- In Feb. 2010, Michelle Obama launched the Let’s Move! campaign. The campaign is dedicated towards fighting child obesity and encouraging children to stay active and healthy.
- In 2011, Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden started the Joining Forces campaign, aiming to support military families and veterans.
- Michelle Obama started the Reach Higher initiative, which aims to inspire high school students to continue their education past high school, by going to college.
- Michelle Obama started Let Girls Learn, which is aiming to help make sure that girls all around the world are able to go to school.
- Besides all the amazing charity work and campaigns that Michelle Obama has done, she isn’t afraid to stand up for what’s right. Like in Sep. 2016 when she called out Donald Trump for, well, being Donald Trump.
- Michelle Obama is one of only three first ladies to have a graduate degree. She attended Princeton University and Harvard Law.
