Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

Prince Ea Is the Forefront of Generation Good. Here’s Why

Prince Ea.

Some of you might have heard of him and most of you have not. Either way, you’ll get to know more of him now. Richard Williams, most notably known by his stage name Prince Ea, is a twenty-eight-year-old poet, filmmaker and speaker. You can learn more about him here.

He is an advocate for climate change, education, human rights and race and has carved a name for himself through his motivational and inspiring videos on social media platforms such as Facebook and Youtube, landing him on The Queen Latifah Show. Prince Ea’s work for a better and more tolerant world has inspired millions around the world to do the same, propelling our generation to be more aware of what is happening to our world and thus being the forefront of pushing our generation to be more open minded, caring and selfless.

Here are some of the reasons why I think he is pioneering the way for a phone-zombied, dehumanized generation of the 21st century.

1. His ability to reach out to millions of people around the world through his videos.
If you are like me browsing through Facebook to kill time, you might have chanced upon his viral videos like ‘Dear Future Generations’, Í Am NOT Black, You Are NOT White’ and Éverybody Dies But Not Everybody Lives’ that have garnered over 250 million views. The reason for why it has gone viral Is simple: For me, his video ‘I just sued the school system!!!’ gave me a paradigm shift in the way I view my country’s education system. Prince Ea’s power to persuade individuals to stop and listen has inspired many to make an effort to do charitable works or read up on the topics that he advocates. His influence is critical in guiding people specifically the millennials to see the damage and destruction the Baby Boomers generation, men and women alike have done to our slowly fading Earth.

2. His music connects with the oppressed minorities and the disadvantaged.
On that same note, Prince Ea has changed the music industry with his educational and political rap music. In 2016, his rap video ‘Letter 2 the President’ sparked a lot of controversy and discussion throughout America and across the world. In the video, he addressed Mr. Obama, the 44th president of the united states of the deep-rooted America has that needs to be solved(police brutality, poverty and outdated laws, etc), giving a voice to the minorities and the lower middle class.

3. He gives effective advice in dealing with the hardships of life.
Personally, his advice helped me through dealing with toxic friends and negativity. He advises his viewers on how to deal with Jerks, toxic people and hate. He also reminds his viewers of the importance of love and positivity. One example is his video in 2015: ‘A Life Changing Way of Looking at… an Orange’. We all have hatred and frustration embedded inside us waiting to explode, and like an orange when squeezed we release all that aggression that we harvested when problems hit us. When that moment happens, we immediately blame others for what we feel and not actually look inside. What Prince Ea was trying to convey is that when life squeezes you, what you release depends on how you deal with the emotions inside. Those life-changing 1 minute long videos might seem nothing, but it has shown the light to many.

Prince Ea has paved the way for people like us to follow and learn that kindness, generosity, selflessness, teamwork sand love aren’t just words, they are actions waiting to be acted out. Therefore, I end off with a quote:

“Call me crazy but I imagine the world where we smile when we have low batteries because that will mean we’re one bar closer to humanity,” said Prince Ea.
