I am sure some of us love to go online and see our favorite celebrities post amazing pictures of themselves because our favorite celebrities always look good no matter what. We love to see what type of lipstick they have on and we gaze on how perfect they did their highlight. Rowan Blanchard has gained many social media followers through her talent which is seen on “Girl Meets World”. Although she is on a Disney Channel show, the best one on the channel, she uses social media as a platform for intersectional feminism, gun violence, and environmental issues. About last year she posted an essay on what white feminism is and the post went viral. She also rallied her followers against the Dakota Pipeline. She is an influential feminist icon.
Amandla Stenberg
Amandla Stenberg is best known for her role as Rue in the Hunger Games. Amandla has used her platform on social media to raise awareness for intersectional feminism and representation in the LGBT+ community. She was also named Feminist of the Year in 2015 by the Ms. Foundation for Women.
Emma Watson
We all know Emma Watson from her notorious role as Hermione Granger and her upcoming role as Belle and everything in between. Throughout these years she has gained such a large fanbase that she has decided to do something about it. She uses twitter to open up the conversation about gender equality and is the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador. She also was one of the main campaigners for the #HeForShe campaign. She did that!
