Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

The Most Iconic Moments In SKAM

If you’ve never heard of it, Skam is a Norwegian web and TV drama series that focuses on a group of teenagers at the Hartvig Nissen School going through school, sex, depression, rape, religion and coming out, in real life and online. Skam translates to shame, a name chose because the main character in each season has to deal with something they’re ashamed of. Still, the ending is always a happy one, with the main character succeeding to fight their battle. Since NRK has confirmed it will produce a fourth season this spring, and fans are waiting patiently for the trailer of the next season, let’s do a recap of the most iconic scenes from Skam.

When the Ouija board outed Isak

The time Sana had all of us shook

Friends standing up for each other and helping each other

Even calling out Emma on her generalization of gay people

Eskild being my gay hero

When Isak said he doesn’t want to be associated with feminine gay males because of the stigma that surrounds it and that he won’t go to Pride just because he likes Even, Eskild called him out and educated him on that subject. I feel like this is something every gay person should confront with, and if we ever hear someone being ignorant about it, we should speak and call them out; if we don’t try and end the stigma, who will?

When Sana gave a beautiful speech about religion

“Islam says the same as always. That all people in this world have the same worth, and that no person should be spoken about behind their back, be violated, judged or mocked.”

The “Du er ikke alene” moment

Isak left his parents at the church and ran 3,5 km only to tell the person he loves that they’re not alone.

If you have a friend or someone close who has a mental illness, try and be there for them.
