Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

What You Need To Know To Attend A Women’s March Near You

We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families – recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country.

Most of us have come to the realization, that a President Trump is a real and very scary thing. Although the next four years look gloomy, as Barack Obama would say we can’t lose hope. It is our duty to hold our new President accountable for each statement, appointment, or policies he makes. We have to resist the ideas of racism, sexism, and all the other bad ‘isms’ that his administration has proven itself to be full. We need to channel our anger into proactive work that will affect our communities.

That is precisely why Co-Chairs of this march Tamika D. Mallory, Carmen Perez, and Linda Sarsour created this event- because they wanted to show the upcoming administration that there would social justice warriors to hold him accountable. The mission statement for the march, in short, is, “In the spirit of democracy and honoring the champions of human rights, dignity, and justice who have come before us, we join in diversity to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore. The Women’s March on Washington will send a bold message to our new government on their first day in office, and to the world that women’s rights are human rights. We stand together, recognizing that defending the most marginalized among us is defending all of us.

The march, sponsored by Planned Parenthood and other organizations, also features honorary chairs such as activist Angela Davis and Gloria Steinem. The concert following the guest speakers is arguably better than President- Elect Trump’s concert- mainly because it features artist we actually know.

If feel like you can no longer let your silence be compliance, then attending the Women’s March is the place for you. Below you will find vital information to do so.
