Six Dead After Shooting In Quebec City Mosque

Six people have died after a shooting in Quebec City, Canada. 8 other people were also injured in result of this tragic event. 39 other people were also at the mosque but were not harmed. Witnesses say there were at least 2 gunmen, dressed in black. Two suspects have been arrested but police haven’t given any further details on their identities. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau released a statement saying “It is heart wrenching to see such senseless violence. Diversity is our strength and religious tolerance is a value that we, as Canadians, hold dear.” He also tweeted about the incident shortly after.

This isn’t the first time the mosque has been in the news, last June a pig’s head was left in front of the mosque during the holy month of Ramadan.

Prime Minister Trudeau has responded to President Trumps Muslim ban by saying refugees are welcome in Canada. The Prime Minister also said he wants to talk to President Trump about how successful his immigration and refugee policy has worked in Canada.

The attack, coincidentally, follows shortly after Donald Trump’s immigration ban on 7 muslim countries and refugees fleeing war zones. As expected, President Trump is yet to comment on the fatal attack. Although New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio expressed his concern over a series of tweets, also mentioning another mosque attack in Texas.
