Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

Does God Really Care If You’re Gay?

The short answer to this question is no. The long answer to this question is no. The valid answer to this question is no. Unfortunately, not everyone understands this, so I guess I should go more in-depth.

Let’s get into what the Bible says about homosexuality, shall we? The Bible does in fact state that homosexuality is a sin. According to 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, they will also not be accepted into the kingdom of God. I haven’t read the Bible and I’m not religious so I’d probably be sitting here for hours googling and typing everything the Bible says about non-straight people. So in short, yes it is a “sin”. But before anyone loses their minds over the thought of burning in a fire for the rest of your life, let’s look at what else the Bible labels as a sin.

  1. 1 Timothy 2:9

“I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments.” Um… does God really spend his day worrying about you braiding your hair or stressing over what you wear. Hm, maybe. But I’d think he has more important matters to attend to.

  2. Leviticus 11:4

“Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean to you.” How many homophobic religious people do you assume eat meat? I’m going to guess a lot because they only care about sins that don’t apply to them.

  3. Leviticus 19:28

“Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you.” How interesting that this applies to literally every homophobe I went to school with. What a shame they’ll all be going to hell. Oh wait, sorry, silly me forgot sin only applies to LGBTQ+. My sincerest apologies.

  4. Mark 10:11-12

“Whoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.” Funny how this probably applies to every homophobic person that’s ever been married. Except maybe Westboro Church who actually, quite shockingly are very consistent with their beliefs. They hate Trump almost as much as me which is funny since they’re just as hateful as he is. Anyways, moving on.

  5. Leviticus 19:16

“Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbor.” Remember when what’s her face from 4th grade told you that you’re crush has cooties? Well I’m sorry to say that sin is here to stay. Enjoy hell, gossipers.

  6. Proverbs 23:2

“And put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony.” If you’re obsessed with food then at least there’s a chance of you being roommates with Jennifer Lawrence and her never ending pizza obsession.

  7. Leviticus 19:27

“Neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.” Men, have you ever found yourself annoyed with or just not wanting all that hair on your face? Well I’m here to crush your dreams of ever walking those big streets of gold in the sky because unfortunately, you fit into the sin category. I guess you can just keep shaving since it’s too late to save you now.

  8. Leviticus 3:17

“It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.” Really, truly, honestly wish I could relate to this but I’m a sin free vegan. Sorry meat eaters but at least you’ll never have to worry about being cold.

Do I need to continue this list or have I made my point? I hope I’ve helped you come to a realization on why telling non-straight people that God hates them is annoying when at least one other sin undoubtedly includes you. How many years ago was this book written exactly? A few million or so, right? It’s 2017 now ladies and gents, and I just do not envision God sitting up in the clouds judging everyone who walks by with a hoop in their nose or a slice of bacon in their hand saying, “Yep, you’re going to hell.” I’m not telling you not to believe the Bible, all power to you. I’d just like to enlighten you all on why stressing about someone’s sexuality is ridiculous and a waste of time. I can assure you they’re not worried over that hole in your pants leg.

If you’re straight, then don’t worry because you have nothing to worry about concerning that situation. We have heard you the last 10 trillion times the words “God hates gays” left your mouth therefore your assistance is no longer needed. Go out, read a book, get a job, live your life. Worrying so much about who someone else is marrying or dating could quite possibly be the reason your love life isn’t working out for you, just a thought. I hope you’ve enjoyed this article and have learned something. Thank you and goodnight.
