Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

You Can Now Take Ivy-League Courses Online For Free

With Ivy-League schools ranking among the most expensive in the education system, now is finally everyone’s chance who’s ever had Yale or Harvard dreams to take free online courses at some of the country’s most prestige universities.

The Ivy-League is made up of eight private universities that consist of Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, and Yale University.

After taking a look at some of the classes, there were some rather interesting courses to choose from. Class Central (Ivy League MOOCs) has made it possible for those seeking to enroll, to explore exactly 249 available courses that are ready for enrollment. Many of the classes are self-taught, while the others that haven’t yet begun, go into session as soon as February 13. There are not many expectations from students in most classes, but to simply look at videos and complete the assignments assigned by the instructor in order to complete the course.

What I’ve gathered after examining the Ivy League MOOCs site, is that there are 12 categories of courses to choose from, which are listed below:

1.) Business and Management

2.) Personal Development

3.) Programming

4.) Art & Design

5.) Social Sciences

6.) Educating & Teaching

7.) Science

8.) Engineering

9.) Humanities

10.) Mathematics

11.) Health & Medicine

12.) Computer Science

Some of the most popular and interesting classes that I came across was, “Modern and Cotemporary Poetry,” hosted by the University of Pennsylvania and “Moralities of Everyday Life,” which is hosted by Yale University.

Even though taking these classes may not count towards anything, it’s the perfect chance to learn from some of the best professors and expand thinking. There are 195 courses that students do have the opportunity to earn a certificate with, however, there is a $49 fee, which varies, depending on the course.

It’s rare to have opportunities of this caliber arise from schools as particular as the Ivy-League, so this is a chance you may want to take.
