Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

The Political Podcast You Need to Be Listening to

In the wake of Donald Trump’s presidency, understanding politics is harder than ever. The rules have been bent, our norms have been warped, and in just about every single way the 45th President could possibly manage to imbue the White House and its offices with a scandal, he has. Where most citizens used to have a more casual connection to politics, a large majority of the population is now mobilizing and attempting to ensure that we see a change in the White House, and fast.

Still, however, reading up on the never ending flow of CNN and Politico articles can get exhausting. It seems that every hour of every day, the Trump administration finds something else to confuse the American people with, and the flurry of executive orders and controversial decisions made since his inauguration have the potential to leave just about anyone flustered and upset, curious to understand more about the government and how it works. .

Enter Pod Save America. Hosted by four former aides to President Obama–Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer, and Tommy Vietor–the podcast boasts itself as a “no bullshit conversation about politics”. The aim of the pod, and it’s related entities, is to talk about politics and it’s inner workings in the way most individuals talk about basically anything else, making crucial information that was once believed to be esoteric jargon both easily accessible and understandable.

With new podcasts twice a week, and special appearances from noted figures such as Deray McKesson, Katie Couric, and President Obama himself (seriously, he did his last interview as President with them), Pod Save America offers a breath of fresh air in a tightly wound political climate of constant scandal and controversy.

Crooked Media

It doesn’t end with the one podcast, though. Pod Save the World, centered around foreign policy and hosted by Vietor, former spokesman for the National Security Council, was recently added to the Crooked Media family. On February 21st, Friends Like These was announced: another new podcast hosted by Ana Maria Cox, known political columnist and culture critic.  The podcast aims to create productive conversations between people of just about every religion, race, and sexual identity in order to gain insight onto what separates us as individuals, and where we can go from there.

If you’re looking for a fun and informative podcast about what is going on in American politics today, or want something to make your daily commute just a tad more informative, Pod Save America–or any podcast from the Crooked Media conglomerate–might be for you and can be found for free on iTunes and the Crooked Media website.
