Last night, everyone watching the Academy Awards were stunned when they discovered that La La Land had won the Oscar for Best Picture in Los Angeles leading the internet going ablaze until we found out that actor Warren Beatty, one of the many presenters last night, had been given the incorrect card. This was the first time in the history of the highly coveted award ceremony that a mistake of this caliber had occurred. While in the moment it felt tragic for the cast of La La Land to stand up there awkwardly, it was a moment of celebration for one of the greatest movies of 2016: Moonlight.
However, while Moonlight fans thought it was the end of surprises, Calvin Klein announced this morning that the Moonlight boys – Alex Hibbert, Trevante Rhodes, Mahershala Ali, and Ashton Sanders – were the brand new faces of the latest underwear campaign for Spring 2017. This is the second official campaign for Calvin Klein’s new creative director, the former Dior designer, Raf Simons, who also happened to dress the entire cast in Calvin Klein for the Oscars last night.
Additionally, actor Mahershala Ali won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor beating his opponents Michael Shannon in the Tom Ford directed Nocturnal Animals, Jeff Bridges in Hell or High Water, Dev Patel in Lion, and Lucas Hedges in Manchester by the Sea. It also made him the first Muslim actor to ever win an Academy Award. In total, Moonlight walked away with 3 awards out of their 8 nominations.
