I remember a time in my life where I’d only view what was popular, the ever so trendy videos and topics all over the internet. But, what we viewers fail to realize is the dark side of the spectrum. We fail to see content creators that do not have such a large following. We never get the chance to discover something new since we are blinded by the lighter end of the spectrum. Those who are lucky are able to notice a glimpse of someone we may find interesting. One such interest had caught my eye, that person being YouTube’s rising star.
A couple months back, I discovered a gaming channel on YouTube. But, as i searched and searched through her channel, I began to realize that there was truly more to this video sharing site than I originally thought.
TheRPGMinx, a woman who can be described as crude, humorous, and an overall mystery has been on YouTube since day one and has accumulated a million subscribers without revealing her face. Now, it is without a doubt true that having a million subscribers is a huge milestone, but not all of them watch her content. Actually, only a few do, as the other big deal content creators steal the show away from her. But, not only does she do gaming, but she also talks about the controversial subjects on YouTube, such as the mass demonetization on YouTube that the site really does not care about.
She is also not afraid to take on the idiotic trends that people on the internet tend to go head over heals for. Her crude humor is what makes her unique, she doesn’t care if someone hates her for what she does, she will spite them and fight on proving them wrong, whatever they say about her, whether it be her sexuality or life choices on the internet and in the real world. She is a one woman army that fight the fight, win the war, and overcome any damage that she takes. As of recently, she has gained five thousand subscribers in the span of a weep, which is quite impressive for a smaller channel that never gets allot of traffic, which proves that smaller channels have hope, and proves she’s a beacon, truly YouTube’s rising star.
