Internet Privacy Is Gone – All Thanks to the Republicans

With the Obama era over, President Donald Trump now has all the power to undo and redo anything Obama had done prior to his time in office. One such thing, that is sparking huge outrage, is the fact that Trump is taking away our internet privacy.

The bill, so far, has passed Senate, and the only thing that has to be done is to get Trump to do his polygraph of a signature on the bill, thereby passing it into law. This bill will completely demolish what Obama had done to protect our safety over the internet. There was a time where internet providers could use and sell our browsing history and information to others, without our permission whatsoever. But, as soon as Obama had entered office, he had passed a law that stopped that from happening. Now, the Republicans want to erase that and go back to how the things used to be way before Obama. And, of course, Trump is expected to sign it.

Republican lawmakers explain that the Obama bill was “unfair” and “targeted broadband networks” all so that they could not compete with competitive companies. The House is trying to kill the Obama era and whatever was left from it, and the Democrats are doing their absolute best to stop this mess.

“Your broadband provider knows deeply personal information about you and your family – where you are, what you want to know, every site you visit, and more,” said Nancy Pelosi, House minority leader.

Our broadband providers will be able to gather whatever information they want, and use it, and the oh so smart Republicans don’t really care about what the consumer/everyday citizen thinks. This situation places our data security at a huge risk.

“Apparently [House Republicans] see no problem with cable and phone companies snooping on your private medical and financial information, your religious activities or your sex life,They voted to take away the privacy rights of hundreds of millions of Americans just so a few giant companies could pad their already considerable profits,” says Craig Aaron, president and CEO of net-neutrality group Free Press Action Fund.

The age of a democratic house is now over, and the cares and needs and personal preferences are regarded as useless as YOUR networks can now snoop on your private life on the internet.
