Back in February, Pornhub announced that their new ‘Pornhub Sexual Wellness Center‘ would cater to anyone interested on a variety of topics “pertaining to love, sexuality and health.” The director of the site is Dr. Laurie Betito, a clinical psychologist with almost 30 years of experience, and she teamed up with Pornhub for the sexual health and education of its viewers.
The site is divided into two main categories, ‘Get Healthy’ and ‘Sexuality.’ Under those two categories comes, on each, 3 different categories; under Get Healthy is ‘Reproductive Health,’ ‘STDs’ and ‘Your Body.’ Under Sexuality is ‘Q&A,’ ‘Real Talk’ and ‘Relationships.’ Dr. Laurie has weekly Q&A’s on varying subjects but most recently she discussed urinary tract infections, the safety behind drinking urine and skin tags on penises. Prior, she was discussing being attracted to older women, a question regarding the sexuality conflicts with someone and “Phimosis — the inability to retract the foreskin which can cause pain with erections.”
Pornhub, surprisingly, is absolutely no stranger to advocacy. Last month, in March, they began a campaign, specifically on March 16, National Panda Day, to help save the pandas, who’re no longer in danger but still in a vulnerable state of being. To get into this panda saving movement, they asked people to dress up as pandas (paint would work as well) and essentially have sex. For each clip, the company would donate $100 and ¢1 for every view to panda preservation charities.
“Considering wood is a main staple of a panda’s diet, it’s especially surprising that they only mate a few times per year, if at all. Thus, in celebration of National Panda Day, we wanted to do our part and help grow the dwindling panda population,” said the Vice President of Pornhub, Corey Price, to Upprox.
Additionally, during winter, and more specifically storm Stella in the Northeast, Pornhub sent branded trucks to help plow streets — for free. All you had to do to get your streets plowed was either email them or tweet them. “After hearing about the severity of Stella, we thought we’d help our PornHub community in the East Coast get plowed, safely,” said Price to the Observer. “We wanted to send our crew out in areas that typically get hit hard, in and around Boston, N.Y.C. and New Jersey, so our fans can go about their day without worry. They are important to us and we hope to plow other states in need.”
They’ve also spoken out about Donald Trump and most recently, his signing to the rollback of online privacy protections. Price has guaranteed that they’d attempt to maintain the privacy of their millions of viewers. “Here at Pornhub, with more than 70 million daily visitors, we wanted to continue our concerted effort to maximize the privacy of our users, ensuring that what they do on our platform remains strictly confidential,” said Price to EconoTimes.
