“I’m only 17 years old and I’m not studying right now because I’m leaving the country for a matter of (a better) future. But I don’t really want to leave Venezuela. This is my country, I was born in here. I’m fighting for it.” He says at 00:38 secs.

Neomar Lander was killed on June 7, 2017.

He was one of the photographers favorite protesters and had been photographed several times.

And his death has been, like in other cases, manipulated by government figures.

Here is what has happened so far:

  1. Lander was in a protest against Nicolás Maduro in Élice street, at Chacao, Miranda. Where he and others were ambushed and repressed for over 4 hours.

4. The deceased teenager was identified as Neomar Lander and videos and photos start surfing social media. (WARNING: EXTREMELY SENSITIVE CONTENT)

5. Right-wing party Deputy Miguel Pizarro breaks down in tears when it’s asked about Lander’s death.

“I wish I knew the answer” He says.

6. Tarek William Saab, Venezuela’s Human Rights Ombudsman, said that the teenager dead was by an “explosive of handmade manufacture”

7. Diosdado Cabello, ex-vice president of the country and one of the biggest political figures, said on his TV show that Neomar died because he was manipulating a “bazuca”, and the previous day he had shown a picture of the teenager a mortar when it wasn’t him.

8. Tarek El Aisammi, Venezuela’s vice president linked to drug traffic, as well as Cabello, also said he was killed by a mortar,  and not by a tear gas impact.

9. The paramedic who gave him first-aids said it was “a very wide and open wound”

10.  “The police officer came in and threw him the mortar (…)When he was going to run it hit him here (He points at his own chest) (…)  He started crying and tried to get up (…)” Said a witness.

11. “Today he was killed and I’m gonna get killed tomorrow, but I won’t stop going to protest. Because I’m gonna keep fighting for the country” Said his uncle to the media.

12. His mother talks to the media.

“Last night in  NotiPatria (proGoverment news) a man who said he was my husband and his father said he (Neomar) was paid to protest. That’s a lie. 80% of us Venezuelans are against the government.” She said.

She is apparently getting deaths treats.
