55 Things To Do Before Summer Is Over

As the days of summer break fly by, more and more people start to run out of ideas of what to do before school starts. Fear not, for I have created a list of enjoyable things that can help create a memorable break. By following this list, you’ll have so many stories to tell your friends when school resumes, rather than being the person who regrets laying in bed all summer. So sit back and continue reading for suggestions on how to improve your summer break!

  1. Go camping
  2. Catch fireflies. The best time to do this is at night
  3. Have a picnic, preferably with your family and/or friends
  4. Go stargazing. This is best done with someone who is close to you
  5. Drink homemade lemonade. Who doesn’t love cold lemonade on a burning hot summer day?
  6. Go on a run. Relieves stress
  7. Walk around the neighborhood with friends. Talk about whatever makes you happy
  8. Dive into a pool. This will never not feel good when it’s 90° F
  9. Learn a new skill
  10. Try something new
  11. Do something you’ve always wanted to do but never had time for
  12. Teach yourself a new language. I started teaching myself Italian through an app called Mango
  13. Discover more about yourself, such as fears or even sexuality
  14. Eat ice cream. Suggestion: cookies and cream
  15. Shadow a doctor
  16. Volunteer at a place that interests you. For instance, I would volunteer at a hospital because I want to study medicine in college
  17. Read a book. Suggestions: Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling, The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
  18. Go to a baseball game
  19. Play golf, possibly at Top Golf
  20. Go to Six Flags and/or Worlds of Fun
  21. Attend a concert with your closest friends. The Weeknd will be going on his Starboy tour soon
  22. Road trip
  23. Go fishing
  24. Workout. It’s never too late to start going to the gym!
  25. Make dinner for your family
  26. Skydive
  27. Bungee jumping
  28. Ride a bike around the park
  29. Go to a museum. Learn about the history behind the art
  30. Watch YouTube videos. Suggestions: Lilly Singh (Superwoman), Miranda Sings,
  31. Get a job. Even if you’re 14, there are still job openings!
  32. Start a blog
  33. Write about your summer experiences
  34. Scroll through social media
  35. Order a unicorn frappuccino at Starbucks
  36. Try a new restaurant
  37. Play board games, such as Monopoly or The Game of Life
  38. Do the “Blazin’ Wing Challenge” at Buffalo Wild Wings
  39. Get a new haircut
  40. Work on your résumé
  41. Meditate. This relieves stress and improves quality of life

  43. Draw a picture
  44. Color in a coloring book

  46. Do a puzzle. Even if you can’t buy a physical puzzle, there is an app that is available on the App Store called Jigsaw Puzzle that lets you do puzzles on your mobile device
