Shortly after the results of the Indiana republican presidential primaries were finalized, Ted Cruz announced the suspension of his campaign. With the termination of his campaign, Cruz leaves John Kasich to battle Donald Trump one on one for (hopefully) the remainder of the race. The final numbers of the Indiana primary: Trump – 53%, Cruz – 37%, Kasich – 8%.

Although not leading nationally (trailing Trump by about 16 points), Cruz was looking pretty steady recently. A contested republican national convention definitely looked like a possibility, but now that Cruz has decided to hop out of the race, it’s beginning to look like a Trump nomination is even more inevitable. He continues to garner increasing amounts of support throughout the nation and throughout the primaries.

It’s scary, I know. Trump, the possibly neo-nazi white supremacist confederate flag flying trash man is likely to be the GOP’s nomination to become the most powerful person in the United States. It is utterly terrifying. Ted Cruz was considered moderate in comparison to Trump, and that is even more mortifying. But even with Kasich left, who is considered the most moderate republican to be in the race, Trump will most likely win out. But the sooner we come to terms with it, the better we can fight it.

Although we can pray for John Kasich to SOMEHOW pull out the win over Trump, we’re going to need to buckle down and fight against what is almost inevitable. Because the sooner we come to terms with it, the harder we can fight.
