Hillary Clinton made her first public appearance yesterday, Wednesday November 16th, since her concession speech. She spoke some very emotional words at the Children’s Defense Fund. She confided that the appearance was difficult for her. She even mentioned a few times that all she wanted to do this past week was curl up with her dogs and a good book and never leave her house again. Yet she still got up and encouraged all her supporters to remain engaged in politics because “America is worth it.”
One of my personal favorite moments from her speech was when she said this: “I know that over the past week a lot of people have asked themselves whether America is the country we thought it was. The divisions laid bare by this election run deep, but please listen to me when I say this: America is worth it. Our children are worth it. Believe in our country, fight for our values, and never ever give up.”
I was never really in love with the idea of Hillary Clinton, but I have the utmost respect for her after this speech. This speech touched so many people, and I think it was exactly what America needed at this time. She received a standing ovation after she concluded with her moving words.
She talked about the importance of the event she was attending and even got choked up after speaking about her late mother. She brought tears to my eyes when she said, “I dream of going up to her and sitting next to her and taking her in my arms and saying: Look, look at me and listen. You will survive.”
Just one week after the election, Hillary Clinton is out fighting for equality, dignity, and respect for all. Her resilience shines through.

Hillary Clinton showed tonight, yet again, that she’ll just keep going, no matter how devastating the setback https://t.co/0y6BEePDaE

Hillary Clinton has had an indescribably rough week. Everything she has worked so hard to achieve her whole life has just slipped through her fingers, yet she still gets out of bed and inspires. She is still fighting for what’s right: equality, dignity, and respect for all. Thank you, Hillary Clinton, for being an inspiration and not quitting no matter how badly you had the urge to.
