Sometimes, it’s hard to know if your friendship or relationship is even going well. Are you saying the wrong things? Do you even enjoy each other’s company? It’s hard, I know. Lucky for you, I have some tips to make sure your relationship (of all forms) is stable.
- Trust Each Other:
How can you have a stable relationship if you can’t trust what the other is doing, or saying? Sometimes, trust isn’t easy to gain, and that’s okay. You can take your time to open up, but it will make the relationship so much better and worth it. You should be able to tell them things. - Make sure your relationship is rewarding to the both of you:
There’s no need to sit around a failed relationship. Be kind to each other, it’s common sense. Do nice things for each other and let them know you are there for them and appreciate the friendship. Be interested in their life, listen when they talk about their basketball game or band practice. - Accept the fact that the relationship won’t always be great:
Sometimes you may fight or disagree: accept it, apologize, and move on from there. If you need space, or they need some space, that’s okay. Your bond will become stronger if you do what’s best for the both of you. Be willing to compromise and solve your problems effectively. - Communicate!
I cannot stress this enough! Please, please communicate with the other half of your relationship. Let them know what’s bothering you, what makes you happy and sad. People can’t read minds, and it really helps to just talk about the things that bother you. I promise it will make your relationship stronger. Be there when times get tough, it means a lot. - Care for each other:
Now, you’re probably like this step is common sense, but to some, it isn’t. Care for each other; it’s the basis of the relationship. If you don’t care for them, then the relationship just falls apart and isn’t what it used to be.
Overall, just support and love your partner, friend, and family. Talk about your feelings, have fun together, and realize everything haves ups and downs. Relationships aren’t easy, but if you always try your hardest, it can help maintain a stable relationship.
