Amid the current political chaos and global uncertainty, we more often than not forget to look at the positive aspects of life. I am here to remind you that all though January has felt like a long and excruciating month, good things have happened. In chronological order, here are a few:

Jan. 5th: Viola Davis receives Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

Jan. 6th: Ed Sheeran releases two singles, namely “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill”, after taking a break from social media and music for an entire year.

Jan. 8th: Tracee Ellis Ross wins Golden Globe for Best Actress in Television Series Musical or Comedy

Jan. 15th: Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus announce that its circus is shutting down in May 2017

Jan. 20th: Shia LaBeouf opens live stream/art piece, HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US, to the public on Donald Trump’s Inauguration day.

Jan. 29th: Roger Federer wins the Australian Open by defeating Rafael Nadal, earning his 18th Grand Slam title.

Many more great things happened during the month of January; some small, some big, and some personal. We should remind ourselves that all though bad things may happen, there is still some good in the world.
