Beyonce Is Being Sued For $20 Million By Messy Mya’s Estate, The Tragic Voice on ‘Formation’

Do you like Beyonce’s new song ‘Formation’?. If we listen to the song, we can hear a voice ask, “What Happened at the New Orleans?” On the beginning of the song. It was Messy Mya’s Voice from his 2010 video “Booking the Hoes from New Wildin” & “A 27 Piece Huh?”.

Beyoncé was sued by Messy Mya’s estate for sampling his voice on ‘Formation’ without permission. Messy Mya’s estate claims that they already tried talking to Beyonce about the sample but she ignored them and now they’re asking for more than $20,000,000 in back royalties for using some of his final recorded words.

But, Who Is Messy Mya?

Messy Mya (real name:Anthony Barre) was a New Orleans rapper and a youtube personality. He was murdered in 2010. Messy was shot when leaving the baby shower of his unborn son. The day before his murder, he posted on Facebook about a friend who had died saying, “I’ll be there soon.”

A week after Messy’s death, Jason Baptiste Hamilton (24) was arrested by police after he was caught on camera killing Messy.

But in 2012, the court heard testimony that a video showing Messy being killed by someone else was circulating online. The charges against Hamilton were dropped, It’s unclear whether police ever actually saw the video in question. Later, Hamilton Evidently diagnosed bipolar and wasnt on medication when he confessed to murdering Messy. Since then, no new suspect has been charged with Messy’s murder.

Messy was known for his fluorescent hair and funny personality. His Youtube Channel hosted clips of him savagely, and often pretty funnily, joking about people who lived in his neighborhood and the violence that permeated the area. By the time he was 22, his video was clocking 10 thousands of views.

Indeed Mya is already gone, but his spirit will always be remembered and forever will be an influential figure for the community.
