Many underestimate the power of thought, even though it affects every aspect of our lives. While we are aware of what goes on in our conscious mind, our subconscious mind often remains a mystery to us, that knows everything about us and ultimately controls our lives, can be something we can actually try to understand rather than let it just be a dark place of memories and complexes. We can let it control us or control it, and the best way to do that is to be aware of your thoughts and things you do subconsciously. Maybe you always go for toxic people when looking for a relationship or have a tape playing in your head of your insecurities, but these types of recurrences are fixable: you have the power to rework your subconscious.
We consciously focus too heavily on the broad expanse of “the negatives” and what that means to us individually. If we thought about what we think about and try to control it, then we can bring about positives, rather than negatives. Thinking about how you won’t get the job, how you think you can’t afford that or aren’t good enough for something you want, will make it true. Your subconscious mind works to prove what you tell yourself to be true. Tell yourself what you want to hear.
Of course, sugary coating events and lying to yourself is not helpful, but if you want something, set your intention in your mind by telling yourself you are worthy and capable. Believing you can is the first step to accomplishing any goals, big or small. If you think and act like something will happen, then you will subconsciously find a way to make it happen.
The Law of Attraction is “magnetic power of the Universe that draws similar energies together”. Basically, it is the idea that what my mom used to tell me: what you think about, you bring about. Essentially, if you think positively, good things will happen, and therefore so can the opposite. Even though this isn’t always 100% accurate, it helps when working towards something specific and also in the overall quality of life.
Here are some simple ways to you can use the Law of Attraction:
- Make a Goals Sheet: having a specific list of goals, big or small, helps you and your mind organize exactly what you are working towards. Putting it up in a place you can see it often also helps a lot too; it’s best to try and look at it at least once a day to keep the goals working in your subconscious mind.
- Be aware of thoughts: Often, we let our minds run wild with things we aren’t really even paying attention to what it is saying. It can be very harmful to not be conscious of toxic thoughts.
- Meditate: Anytime you can, but morning or night time before bed is best to set an intention for the day or for your sleep. This will help you be able to be more aware of your thoughts throughout the day and to help hyper-focus on your goals.
