Honestly, truly there is nothing more iconic than this picture. I love the smiling faces of the Trump family oblivious to the fact that they were being professionally trolled. When I came across this tweet I literally spit out my water.
As if we needed another reason to dislike Trump, his son and his daughter in-law managed to pull a stunt like this and turned him and his campaign into an even bigger laughing stock. For someone with a HUUUUUUGE failed resort in Mexico, you’d think he’d have picked up a couple basic words in Spanish. Eric and his wife couldn’t have whipped out their smart phones and google translated “contra” from Spanish to English? I get it, being on your phone while at a campaign event might have been perceived as being rude, but all they had to do was use context clues. Contra-ception literally has the word “CONTRA” in it, and people don’t use contraception to help them get pregnant! In fact, it does the opposite aka “against”-conception.
It baffles me, how people are willingly voting for a family that doesn’t have intelligent PR/social-media advisors that could have tapped them on the shoulders and told them that “CONTRA” meant against before they took the picture? A member at the event from his “token diversity organization”, Latinos for Trump, couldn’t have warned them? If I were Trump, I would fire my staff because clearly, even his staff doesn’t want him to win. If he can’t keep his staff working like a well oiled machine, how is he supposed to run America?
Of course the Trump supporters came with their racist guns blazing saying “we speak English in America”, and they even brought up this picture, that was proven to be fake in order to find a way to deter from the Trump’s stupidity and find a way to slander Hillary. If we want to get technical, the indigenous Americans spoke Navajo, Cherokee, and other Native American languages that are on the brink of extinction because the foreign language, ENGLISH, was brought over by people hell-bent on destroying the Indigenous Americans as well as their languages!!!
If you’re as geeked as I am over this t-shirt, and can’t wait to tell your kids how you witnessed this Iconic moment in 2016, you can even purchase your very own “Latinas Contra Trump” T-shirt!! (I’m sure they will be expanding to Latinos Contra Trump so we don’t leave the guys out too). It’s easy to overlook his blatantly disrespect for women, his generalizations that all Mexicans are rapists and murderers, his questionable business record, and his generalization that all Black people live in inner cities when you benefit from privilege!!
