Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

The Enemy Of The American People

The President of The United States Donald Trump attacked once again via Twitter, the news and media outlets. In his tweet he specifically targets The New York Times, NBC, ABC, CBS and CNN claiming they are not his enemy but the enemy of the American people.

President Trump, continues his fight against the media letting his followers know at least 10 times in less than half an hour about “fake news” which unsurprisingly according to himself, all the fake information out there is about him and against his presidency.

On Saturday 18, Trump held his first rally after being elected president and did not waste any time attacking once again the media outlets in front of 9000 people who attended the activity. He started his speech against the media saying he was going to speak without the filter of fake news.

“Despite all their lies, misrepresentations, and false stories, they could not defeat us in the primaries, and they could not defeat us in the general election. And we will continue to expose them for what they are,” he said. “They’ve become a big part of the problem. They are part of the corrupt system.”

To top off the mad circus US politics have become, Trump’s campaign and the Republican Party websites created a poll, called Mainstream Media Accountability Survey asking 25 questions about the media, some of them are if CNN or Fox News report fairly on Trump’s presidency, if you believe that the mainstream media has reported unfairly on the Trump movement and do you trust the mainstream media to tell the truth about the Republican Party’s positions and actions? To finish the survey you have to give personal information  like your name, email address and Zip code.

Due to this situation, Senator John McCain made an statement, in an interview with NBC:

“We need a free press…we must have it. It’s vital, if you want to preserve, if you want to preserve democracy as we know it you have to have and free and many times adversarial press” as the segment continued McCain also said “That’s how dictators get started, When you look at history, the first thing that dictators do is shut down the press,I’m not saying that President Trump is trying to be a dictator. I’m just saying we need to learn the lessons of history.”
