Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

Someone Should Teach Ben Carson A History Lesson

If you thought Ben Carson couldn’t get any worse, somehow, he’s proven he can.

First though, let’s explore a few reasons Ben Carson is cancelled in the first place.

To make it easier, here’s a list:

  1. He supports Donald Trump. Need I explain more?
  2. He believes Congress should be able to remove judges for voting for marriage equality.
  3. He doesn’t believe in war crimes.
  4. He compares ObamaCare to slavery and even goes so far as to say it’s the worst thing since slavery.
  5. He thinks that a Muslim should not be able to be President of the United States. How ironic that a minority that was said to never have been president is now saying another minority can’t be presi… never mind.

And now, to add to that list;

6. In Carson’s address to hundreds of “assembled department workers”, he began with his belief that slaves “were other immigrants who came here in the bottom of slave ships, worked even longer, even harder for less. But they too had a dream that one day their sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandsons, great-granddaughters, might pursue prosperity and happiness in this land.”

Well, Ben, I don’t know where you’ve been but that’s not really how things went down.

Slaves  were brutally stolen from their families. They were forced into a new continent. Forced to speak a new language and serve a new God. Forced to change their names, their clothes, their heritage. Their identities were ripped away from them and it was all justified behind scriptures.

Slaves didn’t “come” here, they were forced.

They weren’t “working even harder for less”, they were SLAVES! They worked for mental and physical torture, and the hope that all their torment may pay off someday for their ancestors.

Whitewashing slavery is despicable, but as a Black man, it shouldn’t even be something you’re comfortable doing.

To compare a group of people who had no say in their own lives to a group of people willingly coming to America to push your agenda is selfish.

Furthermore, as a Black man taught about in Black history, you have to be better.

Ben Carson, do better.
