Lilly Singh, a 28-year old YouTube personality known by her username “Superwoman,” is changing the world one girl at a time. With over 11 million subscribers, Singh uses her platform to bring awareness to issues in need of resolution.In a video she posted in December of 2015, she proposed an end to girl-on-girl hate.
In 2016 Singh partnered with MEtoWE to sell her #GirlLove bracelets. The profits are used to help young girls in Kenya access primary education. Through this Singh has taken a pledge to help end girl on girl hate and empower girls all around the world to take action in their communities and take the pledge.
But her work doesn’t stop there. For International Women’s Day, Singh challenged girls all over the word to do the “Bra Toss Challenge,” where they throw their bra in support of women who have inspired or empowered them. Singh has influenced numerous stars and internet personalities to take on this challenge and spread #GirlLove.

Singh has also been noted for her Girl Love collaboration with the Malala Fund. In a Facebook post, Singh expressed her feelings on meeting Malala Yousafzai and her work:
“No caption will express the amount of gratitude and respect I have towards Malala. Today I had the pleasure of hearing her speak with such passion and confidence about education and female rights. I am so proud to be living in a time where women like Malala exude courage even in times of fear. It makes me realize that none of us have an excuse to not participate in the fight for humanity.”
Singh’s campaign for girl on girl love has sparked empowerment in girls and women of all types. She is paving the way for future generations of girls to rise up and realize their worth in society. She is just one example of women that are changing the world one day at a time. She is a role model for young girls, a big sister that we’ve always wanted and a superhero that we never knew we needed.
