If you are someone who is into makeup and likes to be creative with it, a pride festival is one of those events where you gotta go all out and slay on everybody else. Whether you do your own thing and do a original bold look, or you take the traditional rainbow look and make it your own, it’s a time to be creative and showcase your talents.
With any kind of colorful looks, it’s always a struggle to make sure that it doesn’t look clownish or sloppy. But there two things you can do to prevent that; 1)use colors that work well together and 2)blend blend blend…..and blend those shadows until everything is smooth and all the colors transition into one another. Makeup is all about practicing and exploring different things, and I can definitely say for sure that my makeup for pride this year is without a doubt much better than it was last year. I would show you what it looked like but that footage has been….misplaced.
I decided to go the more traditional route and do a rainbow look, but I smoked out the colors, and added some little dots around the tail of my brows to add some extra fun. The awesome thing about doing any kind of bold eye look is that you can go subtle with the lips and do a nude color, or go the dramatic route, and do a dark or colorful lip. I decided to be dramatic and did a black lip to go with the rainbow eye look. There is no wrong or right way to do a rainbow eye look in my opinion. The important thing is that you like how you look, and that you had fun doing it!
Products Used:
- BH Cosmetics Take Me To Brazil Palette
- Coastal Scents Ultimate 252 Eyeshadow Palette (the BH Cosmetics palette din’t have a dark enough red shadow that I liked. I also used this palette for the gold color in my inner corner)
- ColourPop Lippie Pencil ‘Bull Chic’
- Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint ‘Naughty’
- Ardell Demi Wispies Lashes
All of the products mentioned above are also cruelty-free!
Several hours later:
After spending all day outside in the sun sweating and jumping around, my makeup looks just as good at midnight as it did at 2 p.m. I’d like to thank my awesome eyeshadow primer, and bomb setting spray for putting this blessing on me. Both products came from Urban Decay Cosmetics who are another cruelty-free company. I did have to reapply my Tarteist lip paint a couple times throughout the night, as it is not a completely matte lip product and does transfer a bit. The key to having any makeup you have on lasting is using a good quality primer and making sure you set your makeup with a setting spray! And of course, don’t forget to where that look with confidence and show everybody who’s boss.
