The Queen has been slandered. And who else would dishonor Bey other than butt-hurt and disillusioned white Trump supporter? No one, really.
Former New York Lieutenant Governor Betsy McCaughey (R) appeared on CNN earlier today in an attempt to justify Trump’s recently leaked ‘lewd’ (more like disgusting and misogynistic) comments and help with damage control of his plummeting position in recent national polls. And in that attempt, she tried to explain that Beyoncé’s “Formation” lyrics are as equally disgusting. Hold up… what? On the show, McCaughey legit said out loud:
“‘I came to slay, bitch. When he f-ed me good I take his ass to Red Lobster.’ That happens to be from Beyoncé, her [Clinton’s] favorite performer. Whom she says she idolizes and would like to imitate. There’s a lot of hypocrisy, in Hillary Clinton expressing such horror at language on the bus.”
So let me get this straight. She’s saying that Beyoncé taking her man to Red Lobster after engaging in consensual sex is anywhere close to Trump talking about sexually assaulting a woman? How can a thought such as this even cross one’s mind? Not only are these remarks straight up absurd, but it also illustrates our nation’s extreme misunderstanding of consent.
Donald Trump’s inappropriate and unethical statements are absolutely inexcusable, so I don’t see any point in trying to justify them. And then attempt to dishonor one of the most iconic singers and entertainers of all time? Ridiculous.
Righteously, McCaughey’s comments prompted immediate backlash and disapproval from the BeyHive, Twitter users, and basically anyone with a brain. Some members of the BeyHive even went as far as punishing McCaughey by altering her Wikipedia page.
Shoutout to the WikiHive for doing the good work.
All in all, Betsy McCaughey’s comments are ridiculous and an absolute reach. But we should probably give her some respect for at least trying to save Trump’s reputation… right? Nah.
