Everyone knows what they want their dream future to look like. You may not know what you want to do, how to get to where you want to be, or where you plan to start a life, but you know the general feeling or lifestyle you want to have. That magical feeling that you get or that place you’re in whenever you imagine your future. Whether you’re just imagining the love you feel when you’re surrounded by your future family and friends or the satisfaction you’ll get sitting in a high tower above the city skyline with the world at your fingertips.
Everyone has a dream.
But then you take a look at the world around you and find yourself being brutally awakened by miserable realities that inhabit our world. You look back at that dream and start to ask yourself a series of questions, How will I pay for college? What college would accept me? Will anyone ever love me? Will I still be welcome in America? Can I push through a system that’s built against me? Will America still be America?
The more questions you ask, the blurrier the dream becomes, the more you lose hope. But that is exactly what we can not do. We can not let our dreams die. When they are being threatened we fight back. We do not let hatred take over nor decide our future for us.We do not let doubts overpower our desires.
So what do you do? PUSH THROUGH. Fight for your future that no one decides but you. Apply for scholarships, build up your college resume, love yourself and you’ll never ask if they do ever again (easier said than done, I know, but you should never stop trying). Those other questions — I can’t even begin to answer. But I do know that I and the rest of America will be standing by your side fighting against corruptness.
