This past Friday night, a full-blown riot by thousands of white supremacist nazis broke out on the UVA campus and has brought one death involving a car strike at the protests. Throughout this disgusting rampage that white nationalists have sprung, there has been a lack of condemning these attacks, more specifically, white celebrities.

Lorde tweeted out a mediocre statement to express her unneeded empathy towards people of color experiencing racism right after the Charlottesville attack. I’m not sure if she thought it would boost the amount of people on stan twitter that worship her for doing the absolute least in regards to activism, but it sure did. Ain’t that amazin?!
Oh, and here’s Lady Gaga spilling some sausage water tea:

Hashtags like #ThisIsNotUS imply that America’s foundation was never built on white supremacist values from the beginning. White liberals enjoy spreading the message of love and unity, only to remove themselves from the equation and act like they’re immune to criticism from activists who only seek the destruction of institutionalized racism.
Don’t act like events like this are surprising and unusual in this day and age when they literally aren’t. Just look at institutional anti-blackness, that has been thriving in our seemingly “better” country since the Jim Crow era. Our government is actively trying to disenfranchise people of color of their vote & redlining still puts black folks living in impoverished neighborhoods at a disadvantage in regard to housing. All of this is happening in 2017, so don’t act like these white supremacy protests are surprising when this ideology has been lurking around in our criminal justice system for the longest time.
You simply cannot sit there and tell us that two wrongs don’t make a right — especially since white supremacists believe people of color are inferior and don’t deserve to live in America, while we only seek a world where all systems of oppression are dismantled and replaced with a system that is in our favor.
That’s why Lady Gaga should’ve kept her pacifist BS to herself ’cause it really isn’t gonna change anybody’s mind.
Since y’all don’t wanna accept the fact that all white people, including white liberals, perpetuate racism and white supremacy in one way or another, I don’t wanna hear the word “activist” come outta your mouths. People like Lorde and Lady Gaga love to talk about how they hold a lot of privilege in this world and “wish it could be fixed” instead of working on solutions to the problem.
If you wanna call yourself an activist, first make like Beyoncé and donate to families of police brutality victims. March in solidarity with us. Call out every act of white supremacy because you must remember that by not calling it out, you are a direct extension of it.
