Deadly Shooting in Texas Church

On Sunday morning, more than 20 people were killed inside a Texas church in a deadly shooting, according to NBC News. A single gunman walked in the church and started firing at the people inside. The gunman is now dead, but it is still not clear whether he killed himself or if he was shot by an officer.

The shooting started at 11:30 am in Texas time in the town of Sutherland Springs, according to CNN. Sutherland Springs is very close to San Antonio, Texas.  A local, David Flores, told CNN that among the victims shot included young children. Some of the patients are currently at the University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, but more patients could possibly arrive soon, according to Leni Kirkman.

According to ABC News, the Texas church shooting is “the fourth deadliest mass shooting in recent U.S. history, falling after Las Vegas, Orlando, and Virginia Tech.” One of the victims killed is a young girl who was only fourteen years old, by the name of Annabelle Renee Pomeray.
