Ironically, things have fallen into place to head down a path where oil, coal and old-fashioned type trade is going to be predominant… whereas, Hillary Clinton (who is rather innovative to solar technology), was the perfect enemy to Russia. Republicans intend to ‘make America great again’ by distancing themselves from any innovative, ‘solar-powered’ form of trade — they want basics… oil and coal. We could all be embarking the start of the Sphere of Influence in Russia that is scarier than having Donald Trump as President.
The summer’s hack of Democratic National Committee emails and the warnings about the possibility of Russian-backed cyberattacks on the US voting systems has given Russia and President Vladimir Putin quite the role on the American Presidential election.
Putin joined the KGB at a time where the head of the organization was taught to undermine the intellect and confidence of your enemy. The current Russian system is unlike the Western system, and the law is biased to the power of the state. There is much difference between Russia today and the Soviet Union. However, Putin is trying to demonstrate a message to the Western World by making America appeal to the world the exact same way as Russia does. Putin wants the West to be as cynical as hypocritical as Russia is.
During the time of the Soviet Union, the conflict with the West was more frightening than the actual nuclear war itself. Similar to now, the West is a real threat to Putin and his goal with the election is to make the West less of a magnet for the world. What Putin wants is to kill the idea of the American Dream, and to make the US look less attractive. He wants the US to ‘recognize Russia as a different system’, according to Arkay Ostrovsky, who is a journalist who has reported extensively on Modern Russia.
The Trump & Putin bond is set to clearly strike a deal in which the US and Russia will finally get along. It will begin with the US lifting economic sanctions, and the NATO troops in the Baltic states will be slowed. The US will also drop its commitment to overthrow Bashar al-Assad in Syria and will join forces with Russia against ISIS. The reduction of tensions in Eastern Europe would also benefit to Putin because Russia just moved nuclear weapons near Poland and Lithuania. This appealed to President Trump of course, because of the commerce.
When asked about Putin’s habit of killing journalists during his campaign, Trump replied: “Our country does plenty of killing too.”
Russia, on the other hand, wants power. Putin wants a sphere around the Ukraine and its surroundings that obey his orders. What does Russia have to offer? Oil of course. What does Putin really want with Trump? The increase of oil trade, to help the burdened Russian economy.
What Putin seems to want most of all from the US is respect. Similar to Nixon’s approach to Moscow, a new deal will make it clear that America has no intention of encouraging a ‘Liberal’ Russia. It is even possible the President Richard Nixon’s Secretary of State could have a role as an adviser or intermediary; Kissinger has been invited to Moscow this month.
Though the election is now technically over, America’s reputation as a serious nation is largely at stake. Trump is headed for a very rough ride, and all the noise from the Clinton-Trump campaigns has now only played into Vladimir Putin’s propaganda. The Russian Influence is now set to wax.
