The Kabul bombing killed 90 people and wounded more than 400 is said to be one of the “deadliest” attacks to take over Kabul for a couple of years. The blast was at a crowded place just days into the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The Taliban denied responsibility for the attack, and no one has taken responsibility for it yet. The Taliban, I must mention, is a Sunni Islamist fundamentalist political movement that is waging war/jihad within the country of Afghanistan and has been for more than the past 10 years.
Wazir Akbar Khan hospital, a few blocks away from the explosion, was immediately filled with wounded people after the explosion. Relatives of the wounded describe what they’ve witnessed to CNBC. The most noticeable comment was “It felt like an earthquake,”
All of what’s mentioned above can easily be found in news sites, but why did you just now know about this?
Why isn’t Kabul trending on Twitter? Why aren’t people mentioning it? Why is everyone pretending that it’s nothing?
Does the validity of a person’s life decrease depend on how frequent the bombings happen in said country?
If that bombing was in Europe or America, the world news would have been talking about it nonstop! Everyone would have been rushing to help! But no, god forbid. It’s Afghanistan, who cares?
Who cares if most of those killed or wounded were civilians? I don’t see angry and sympathetic comments with #JeSuisKabul catching the trends. I don’t see the Eiffel Tower or Burj Khalifa colored with Afghanistan’s flag colors.
Is it because Afghanistan is a third world country? Or is it because we have lost our humanity?
