Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

Youtubers Making an Impact

Written by Perry

Youtubers Making an Impact Youtube is a space we have all grown to know and love. Every day, thousands of content creators put out videos that anybody can consume. Among this countless number of online media are the videos that make people think about social issues. As easy as it is to make any video, it takes a certain character to voice something that makes an audience engaged, educated, and wanting to take action. This is a list of some Youtubers making a real difference.

1.) Nathan Zed (@thethirdpew): A growing face in the Youtube community, Nathan has been speaking up about social issues since day one. Among the topics that he discusses are police brutality, women’s issues, and POC rights. He is also very active on Twitter where along with great messages, he shows his relatable sense of humor.

2.) Laci Green (@lacigreen): Laci runs a channel that’s mainly focused on actual comprehensive sex education as oppose to abstinence education taught in schools. Her viewers can get informed on very important things parents, teachers, and schools don’t teach. However, that’s not all she’s known for. Laci is also an outspoken feminist, lgbtq+ supporter, and POC rights advocate.

3.) Marina Watanabe (@marinashutup): Feminism is the name of the game for Marina. All of her social media accounts are filled with provocative information about misogyny, the patriarchy, and how society views women. You can expect thought provoking videos that hit on topics from slut shaming to cultural appropriation.

4.) Franchesca Ramsey (@chescaleigh): Franchesca is a black rights activist who speaks up on real life issues for POC. On one of her videos called “Sometimes you’re a caterpillar,” she takes a cute, lighthearted story about a snail and a caterpillar, and transforms it into a powerful message about being an ally and understanding privilege. Sometimes, you can get swarmed with the tags, hauls, and challenge videos on Youtube, but there are a handful of people on the website who are making engaging content.
