After Election Day, people have been putting money into Planned Parenthood. But, people aren’t just donating money to them, they are donating in Mike Pence’s name. Mike Pence is infamously known for his long and outrageous list of signed restrictive anti-abortion laws while being a governor in the state of Indiana.
One of the laws he passed includes: made a crime in disposing remants of a fetus, health facilities are required to bury or cremate the aborted fetus. Among many others he has passed and voted ‘yes’ in favor of restricting reproductive rights for women in Indiana.
Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky (PPINK) states they have received nearly 14,000 donations in the week since the election and gave its gratitude to all donators on their website:
“We are pleased that this outpouring of support recognizes the good work PPINK does and we welcome the financial support to continue to serve our patients who need us the most.”
Now, Planned Parenthood has received about 46,000 donators who donated in Mike Pence’s name. Overall, they have received a total of 200,000 donations since the election thus far. Last Tuesday, the amount was only 12.5 of the 20,000 donators out of 160,000 who have donated in his name. At this rate, the number of donators will continue to increase as long as he is the Vice President-Elect.
When making a donation to Planned Parenthood, you will receive a certificate as a ‘thank you’ for donating. So, all the certificates from the donations will go straight to Mike Pence.
