We’ve all heard about the crisis in Aleppo. There have been bombings that have taken place throughout the city which has caused the loss of many innocent lives of men, women and children. Ever since President Trump’s Muslin Ban the people from Syria are in danger of not being able to come to The United States as legal refugees. People need to flea from their country because of the civil war. Innocent families are being torn apart because of a war they have no control over.
Most of us aren’t certain how this civil war started, and the basics of it may sound very familiar, especially to Americans. This civil war is based on the rejection and the actions of the fascist Syrian president Bashar Al Assad. This president’s fascist agenda has caused protests throughout Aleppo. A main group has an ambitious goal to de-throne this dictatorship. This group is known as “The Rebels.” The Rebels caused the defensive forces of the Syrian government. This along with their ally Russia.
Ever since this resistance, bombs have been dropped on Aleppo in effort to defeat these rebels. Instead of diminishing the rebels, in which was the main goal, it has instead ruined the lives of innocent civilians.
Any of this sounding familiar? How about the fascist leadership? Ever since Donald Trump was elected people have been protesting his victory. This is because time and time again Donald Trump has proven to be racist, sexist, sexually abusive, islamaphobic, a bigot and many more. He is even known for not paying his taxes. Every since his inauguration on Jan. 20 the protests and resistance have gotten even bigger. The Women’s March On Washington brought over millions of protesters, the biggest protest in American history. Not only does America protest this unqualified president, but so does the rest of the world including, Australia, The Uk, and Canada. There was some hope when these protests erupted, until Donald Trump started acting on the very promises people feared him for. One of them being to go forth in the building of the Dakota Access Pipeline which would run through an Indian Reservation, and could contaminate their drinking water.
Another one of his idiotic acts as president was to take away a woman’s right to choose by working on making Abortion illegal. This would cause thousands, maybe millions of women with unplanned pregnancy to be forced to terminate their pregnancy illegally. Making abortion illegal will not stop abortion, it will stop safe abortion.
Another disgusting promise and potential event that this new “president” has promised is a wall separating Mexico from the United States, to help keep out illegal immigrants.
There have been so many unconstitutional acts made by Trump but the one people are so fearlessly fighting for is this abominable Muslim Ban keeping refugees from the countries of, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen from entering The United States. He does this to “make America safe” but in all honesty, white men in America have killed more innocent people than people from Islam ever did. So why are they not targeted? Oh that’s right. White supremacy.
We live in a country now run by people who only think of themselves and their own idea of America and not the people from all over the world that truly make this country great. We keep out Syrians and other countries of the Muslim faith thinking that they’re terrorist or their dangerous when we’re worse. We’re a country run by a man with no conscience, a man with no integrity, and a man less of an American than the people he tries to keep out. Will we end up exactly like Syria? So disgusted by our president that revolt, bloodshed and war is in store? Nobody knows. But if we find a way to resist peacefully we can greatly avoid causing unnecessary people to be hurt.
Resist. Join the resistance. There is no Making America Great again, it’s about making a new America. A better one. One that excepts people from all over the world, one that believes in equality for all. And with this new president we will not get that America. We will get the America from the past, the one that separated people on things they cannot control. So fight for your rights, march for them, but remember to do it peacefully. Your presence is stronger than your anger. The people are stronger than those who think they run them.
