Artist Sizzy Rocket has definitely made her mark on 2016, releasing her debut album Thrills and joining with Alex Fitts to create the duo that is Shiny Wet Machine. They are also planning a future release in January, following their song Stun Gun. She has created her own cult on Twitter, currently having over 9,000 followers which she never fails to talk to and give advice to every day.
She is mainly known for her song Bestie, accompanied by a video, describing her desire to hook up with her best friend, bringing in a wider audience that loved the representation. She’s released numerous songs and an album that gained a lot of attention. She uses her platform to appreciate her fans, create worthwhile music and speak out about particular issues.

In 2014, Sizzy Rocket once completed flipped the Beastie Boys song Girls on its head and transformed it into an empowering message, reworking lyrics and adding lines such “they wanna see girls fuck girls but not if it’s their sexuality”. In an interview, she stated that she couldn’t stop singing “girls, all they really want is girls” instead of the original lyric and decided to put a more feminist angle on the song, showing that women can be sexy and powerful at the same time. It also presents the problems with the misogyny women face in their daily lives, including the standards people expect women to hold themselves up to and attitudes against them.
Sizzy Rocket and her perspective towards pretty much everything is refreshing and needs to be more recognised in 2017. Along with her music that twists pop music into her own style, she never fails to impress the cult and deserves more exposure that presents her ideas and shows how dedicated she is to her fans and her music.
