Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

‪Meet CL, a New Wave of Artistic Excellence ‬

Lee Chaerin (formally known as CL) is an up coming solo artist in America. Her musical reign started when she debuted as the leader of 2NE1 (a wildly known Korean girl group) in 2009. Her charismatic performances solidified her status as an unbreakable force and furthered her career into other musical and fashion related pathways. She has collaborated with western artists such as Diplo, Skrillex and the black eyed peas, and released her own solo tracks.

In 2013, she released her branding song ‘The Baddest Female‘ which emphasized her status as the baddest female in Korea. She received this nickname not only because of her fierceness but also because of her ability to engage with the audience when performing. She released MTBD, Hello Bitches & Lifted in the three years that followed. She signed with Scooter Braun in 2014 after he approached her with an opportunity to break into the American market. And because of her partnership with Scooter; she entered Billboard’s Hot 100 with her track LIFTED and became the first Korean female solo to do so.

Her English album has been in the works for two years now and she has taken part in composing the entire album alongside hired professionals. She has also been credited for composing various 2NE1 songs. It is expected to drop any minute now with rumored collaborations including Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Will.I.Am, Skrillex, Diplo and others. Her album’s success is crucial because of America’s lack of Asian presentation in the music industry.

CL has also grown like wildfire in the fashion industry. Designers like Jeremy Scott, Alexander Wang and Jean Paul Gaultier consider her their muse and she is a front seater at Fashion Shows held by highly respected brands. She was featured on BoF as part of the 500 global fashionistas list and has collaborated with Vogue which all tied together with their fashion show.

CL is a force to be reckoned with and has aspirations that are sky limit. She has grown from being a  domestically known artist to a global phenomenon and she can only get bigger from this point on.
