Introducing The Next Generation Of Leaders And Thinkers

Twitter Threads That Deserve More Attention

Twitter is a social media app where people can talk to each other about what is going on in the world and in their lives. So it’s no surprise that glossed over news and concepts reside there. It expresses itself in the form of threads, multiple tweets relating to the same topic, to inform the public. Rather than plagiarizing the ideas from these threads, I’ve decided to link you to some of the eloquently worded threads I stumbled upon on Twitter.

This first thread by @strfires is about LGBT concentration camps opening in Russia without media coverage. @strfires links the article detailing everything in this thread.

The next thread by @jaboukie is about most comedians being sexist, racist, transphobic and pretty much every other negative adjective to make a living.

This thread by @NOTORIOUSAALI is about the harvesting of organs of black people. This thread provides a convincing theory about the number of black people going missing.

This thread by @Luckwman is about the linguistic use of “nigga”. Definitely check out this thread if you fail to understand why the word can only be used by black people. Luckman gives a phenomenal argument backed by sources.

This thread by @Drebae_ is about the undisclosed issues in the black community. He talks about how mental illness and sexuality is largely ignored in a lot of black households.

This next thread is a series of threads by @localblactivist. I personally love this account because it is so informative and has so many exceptional and perceptive threads.  So here’s a thread of all her threads.

You can check out more by @localblactivist on her blog.

This last thread tells about how bittersweet and exhausting it is to become “woke”. @Ajamu_X goes on to tell how disheartening it was to see the discrepancies and inconsistencies in his reglion.

That is all the threads I could think of at the moment but there are many more coherent and reliable threads on less covered, important news on Twitter.

However, the keyword here is reliable.

You can’t trust everything you read on Twitter. It is always smart to check sources and look things up yourself when presented with new information from a unknown source.
