The 2017 Golden Globes were held on January 8th, a cold Sunday night for many Americans huddled up in their living rooms watching their favorite TV and film stars dressed lavishly on the red carpet as they celebrate a night of prestigious awards. For most of us, award shows like the Golden Globes are an opportunity to celebrate the motion picture art forms that resonated with us, made us laugh or cry, and maybe even both. We get to see the hard work of the cast and crew be recognized for creating such powerful, beautiful work.
A favorite of many is up for numerous awards, this film is commonly known as Hidden Fences.
Hidden Fences tells the remarkably moving and inspiring story of black people.
Black film stars like Octavia Spencer, Denzel Washington and Oprah performed brilliantly in a way that will surely leave all of us remembering the story of how three black women who loved baseball contributed to sending the very first fence into outer space.
*This is satire since people don’t know the difference between Hidden Figures and Fences. Apparently some white people don’t realize that not all black people look the same.
