[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s you may know, Tyler Posey is the latest victim of leaked pictures surfacing the internet. This news comes days after the same thing happened to his Teen Wolf co-star, Cody Christian. With 73.5k tweets and counting, it may be difficult to avoid seeing anything about it on your feed. Unfortunately, it’s becoming more and more common to see unsolicited pictures of celebrities surface onto platforms like Instagram and Twitter.

Naturally, many of these tweets are exactly what you would expect, memes and jokes about the situation. The truly sad thing is that after so many of these instances and so many victims, we still can’t be serious about it. People no longer consider the obvious moral issues behind looking at someone else’s private images.
What celebrities and other public figures choose to do in their free time is up to them, and it’s our responsibility to be mature when situations like this break out.
To make matters worse, Teen Wolf fans are now waiting in anticipation for the next star to have their photos leaked. Of course, there are some who defend and respect Tyler, but others want more pictures to leak from the cast. If this doesn’t show that something is wrong with our society, I don’t know what will.
Think about how you would feel if you were exposed on the internet for millions to see, and all you could do is watch people make jokes about it. I ask that you respect not only Tyler, but also any person that this happens to. You never know what is going through their mind during a time like this. So please, if you’re considering tweeting something “funny” about the situation to entertain your immature followers, don’t do it.
